Willie Houston

The Band

"Bluesman" Willie Houston has been playing the blues for over 60-years and at age 79 he's going strong. He is also known as Colorado's elder statesman of the blues. Willie hails from Grand Cane, Louisiana and has played his delta blues in about every club, bar, event hall or juke joint in the western US. Willie Houston's new found popularity has opened many ears to his grand electric delta style of an art form that has a very limited number of surviving alumni. Treat yourself to an unforgettable experience and come on out and see for yourself the  magic that is The Legendary "Bluesman" Willie Houston.

Randall Dubis, Milwaukee, Wisconsin native, is a Denver, Colorado based artist.  His music can be described as, "Blues on the Rocks, with a splash of Funk." As the principal vocalist and guitarist, Randall usually is accompanied by keyboards, bass and drums. Prior to his departure from Milwaukee, WI in 1979, Randall worked through a succession of bands that were reflections of Jazz, R&B and Fusion. In part due to the 'Disco' invasion he went West to seek a more fertile performing environment. In addition to Denver area gigs, Randall toured most of the Western states in the late 80's. The 90's through 2000 became a time of distillation of styles for Randall relating to both his guitar and vocal development.

Randall has been the second guitarist with Sonny Rhodes on and off since 1998. Randall has spent the last two years (2004-2005) touring fulltime with Sonny Rhodes across the U.S. and Canada and a two month tour of Europe (June-July 2005), which included France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Poland, Italy and Sicily. That tour included 21 Blues Festival appearances, 19 of which Sonny topped the bill.   Since 2000, on several occasions, Randall and his band have backed Son Seals on club dates and festival appearances.  Mentored both by Lap Steel king, Sonny Rhodes and Chicago Blues artist, Son Seals, Randall feels he's absorbed the best of their styles and honored their influences in his performance skills.  Randall has also toured Holland with Dan Treanor in 1999 and 2001.

Active in the studio, Randall and his band have released three albums on Sylvan-Adam Records - "They Call Me Slim", in 2000 and "Walk A Mile" in 2002.  Presently Randall is finishing his new CD, slated for release in Autumn of 2006.

At the end of the tour season in November 2005, Randall returned home to Denver to re-group his band, finish a CD and resume gigging and touring.  Randall's shows are comprised of classic Blues standards, R&B favorites and a healthy dose of original songs.  Randall will continue to gig locally, but places a healthy emphasis on touring the Mid-West and Canada.  Randall hopes to bring his band and show to your home town soon!
